Didn’t really like running around the Dodger’s parking lot. I’m sure you’ll get that comment from many. Fun time thanks.

It was a hilly hard race but loved it and crossed the finish line!!!
January 6th, 2013 at 8:35 pm
This was my third 5k i have participated on and first of this event and I loved it, if there’s another New Year’s Race for next year, I’m up for the 1/2 marathon run

Super Loved the medal..Did not like the course. It did not represent Downtown Los Angeles. You should have named it “Dodgers’ Half Marathon.
January 6th, 2013 at 9:16 pm
Enjoyed the race but the course was more hilly than I expected. I didn’t enjoy the several miles in the Dodger Stafium parking lot… Boring and redundant. It was much nicer and more interesting on the streets.

Can’t wait till next year.lots of hills but was a great challenge. It was very well run.
January 6th, 2013 at 10:24 pm
Great race! The first half was a challenging uphill climb but the second half was mostly downhill to the finish. The multicolored flashing light, cityscape, music and run around Dodger field made it great fun. Lastly it was well planned and organized. Can’t wait til next year!

For flatrunners like myself, the uphill miles were tough to take especially when, during my training the only elevation gain I had was a few inches off the ground to dodge dog poop on the streets. Nonetheless this race was great for people who are looking to start the year with a bang. Congratulations to all participants!

A bit monotonous around Dodger Stadium, but I can understand the logic. By knocking off some distance inside the stadium, it prevented having to secure public streets for the equivalent distance, thus requiring less traffic control and in theory, keeping the entry fee in check. As Michael wrote, it was a challenging course. Good job all!

Re previous, should have written knocking off some distance inside the stadium parking lot. Inside the stadium itself was cool!

I love seeing the city at night, but way too many hills in and out of the Dodger Stadium “parking lot” and not enough gatorade stops, saw lots of people cramping throughout the race. Night race was very different than daytime, not so many spectators, cheerleaders and musicians for encouragement. Good learning experience. Beautiful medal!

The hills were brutal. Still the race was a lot of fun. Looking forward to running it again next year.

I enjoyed the race! The hills were a great challenge! I wish the course would have included more of downtown LA though. While running through Dodger Stadium was a unique experience, running around Dodger stadium area for a significant part of the race course was not that great.
The start and finsh areas were great! Looking forward to next year’s race already!! Happy new Year and thank you for a fun and unique event!!

it was a great idea, but the mileage inside the dodger stadium parking lot should really be relooked at. There are so many wonderful spots in downtown LA that we just ran past instead of running through, i.e. chinatown & olvera street. The drummers were excellent- for an evening event, more of this would be great! i realize road closures are not easy, but if the same course is kept, it should almost be renamed, “dodger stadium parking lot 1/2 marathon”. i would love to do this again, but only if the course is better laid out. i like hills, so that part didn’t bother me. the volunteers were awesome!!!!!

Tough course! Super cold, but super fun! I loved running around Dodger Stadium! Thanks for all the hard work everyone put in for the race! Can’t wait until next year. Oh, also – the heating lamps at the end of the race: GENIUS.

Great Race had a lot of fun!

Great race! The best part, by far, was running through Dodger stadium while a live band played in the background. I loved the beer garden and festivities after the race too and was impressed by the amount of security overseeing the route (running in downtown at night could have been scary).
Overall, a wonderful experience! Thank you for the opportunity to experience downtown LA in a different and fun way.

This was my first half marathon and I will definitely do it again next year. The hills were killer but I managed. Great job to all who organized, planned, volunteered, and supported. And congrats to all the finishers.

It was an overall fun race considering it was the first year. I will participate again next year.
Please consider cutting down the loops in the Dodger Stadium parking lot next year.
Great opportunity to run around in LA downtown at night. Thank you very much for organizing such fun race. See you guys next year!!

Great event! Lots of fun! Would definitely run this one again. Thanks to all the volunteers!

Had a great time. My first but not last night race. Tough hills with the Dodger Stadium payoff. Very well organized. Look forward to next year and becoming a legacy runner.

i’m 70 years young, came in second. found the race tough. over weight and under trained, but had fun running around l.a. and the dodger stadium, need more lights in some areas. need to try and start on time. well run race, i will be back.
January 11th, 2013 at 3:16 pm
Loved it, a little tough with the hills but I will definately do it again next year with a few family members. Thank you all who put this race together.

Enjoyed the race and organization. The race had great significance to me. My Mother passed away on this exact day so my race was dedicated to her. My bib read “Run 4 Mom JL” so it’s something I’ll never forget. I’m not a consistent runner but I do plan on participating next year. Thank you and see you again.

My second half-marathon and I PR’d.
February 4th, 2013 at 10:19 am
Before, move to Arizona I enjoyed run this inaugural race. I’m run 7 half marathons & 3 5K’s (this is one of the 3 5K) I’m happy that I was one of the participant in this inaugural race. I wish to come back again.
February 6th, 2013 at 11:31 am
I would love to see less of Dodger Stadium’s parking lot. The drummers were outstanding. The race should begin earlier.

Great course for hill training for the L A Marathon. I was concerned when race started about 30 minutes after official start time. It was a fun way of seeing LA at night by walking places you might never walk. Great Police presence and the volunteers were the best. See you next year!!!
